Three blind mice? I hope not!!
My sister and I had a little visitor last night - a little mouse. We got very freaked out and stood on the bed for a while wondering how to deal with it! (By this point, it had run away and blatenly was hiding from us!!) We are hoping it was a one off - but if it isn't then there is a great video on youtube about a mouse....this is what will happen - Mice, be warned!!!!

Beautiful Day
'It's a beautiful day,

Sky falls, you feel like

It's a beautiful day,

Don't let it get away'

What a great song from u2! Whenever it is sunny and slightly warm I find myself singing just that one line over and over again 'It's a beautiful day!' Partly because I can't remember the rest of the song, but also because it is a beautiful day!

This week has been full of them. The sun has been out, and I'm sure it does something to people's moods! I always want to be out in the sun - make the most of it while it's here...the sun doesn't seem to stay out too long in the UK!!

I really just wanted to share with you that it has been a beautiful day, and you should all go out and make the most of it! Kevin and I went for a walk, and it was great! We walked along the canal for a bit, and the sun was glistening on the water, and loads of people were out. Amazing! Don't let beautiful days get away - make the most of it! Nature really helps me to remember God's amazing creation, and I hope that it can do the same for you too!

Here's some piccies from our walk....

Go and make the most of the beautiful weather - don't let it get away!!

Lent - a time to get healthier?
Lent is that funny time of the year when many people give up something for 6 weeksish (however long it is from ash Wednesday to Easter Sunday!) They are mostly things that involve eating, like chocolate, biscuits, crisps etc...It seems like a great opportunity to get a bit more healthy - but in what sense? Do we give these things up to spend more time concentrating on God, or do we give these things up because we eat too much of them, and we see it as an excuse to loose a few pounds?!

Well I gave up chocolate a couple of years back and it almost killed me! I think it showed me how relient I was on the stuff! I have to admit that it was mainly to stop myself from eating it so I could get a bit more physically healthy! I didn't use the extra time to spend anymore time with God - infact, it made my grumpy for the first couple of weeks as I had a constant headache for the most part of it!

This year however, I have decided to use it as a time to realign myself with God - to work on my spiritual health. It is so easy in life, even working for a church to go from one thing to another like clockwork and not stop to pray. Therefore, instead of giving something up, I have created a little prayer den for myself in my bedroom that I am going to aim to use each day for at least half an hour. I am going to pray for guidance in my life; my work and my personal life, and I am going to work on my relationship with God.

(this is my prayer den from the outside)

At church this lent we are going through the purpose driven life, and for those of you who are familiar with this, the first week talks of our purpose in life. What drives you? Whatever the answer is for this question is what you should focus your time doing. Therefore, I am refocusing my life on God this lent. I will keep you uptodate with my thoughts on this...but for now...what are YOU going to do this lent to get healthier?

Welcome to blogging!
I've never really blogged before, but I thought it would be a good way to keep my friends more involved in my life!

As many of you know I am working as a youth worker for Elmfield church, and have been here since August 2007. I hope that by reading this you will understand more of what my job entails and how I hope to go on serving God!

Love to you all!!
